VPI Classic 2 turntable with major tonearm upgrade

Up for auction is my VPI Classic 2 turntable in black oak finish, with the JMW-10 3D-printed uni-pivot tonearm with Nordost Valhalla reference wiring. I am the original owner and purchased this turntable new in February 2017 at the very end of the Classic 2 lifecycle at VPI. I got it with upgrades to the feet (TNT mini feet) and Classic 3 tonearm. Later on I purchased a major upgrade to replace the classic 3 tonearm in April 2022 with a VPI JMW-10 3D printed tonearm (10.5 inch) with the Nordost Valhalla Reference wiring (this was a $2700 upgrade at the time). VPI still sells this arm, but only with VPI copper wiring now, you can't purchase this arm with the Nordost reference wiring anymore. Please go to the VPI website, you can check this out yourself, the current pricing on this arm with the VPI wiring is $2000. This is not the aluminum (classic 2) or stainless steel (classic 3) tonearm. The only reason I am selling this turntable is that I have retired and am now downsizing my entire stereo system. The condition is excellent, there is a minor ding to the left-rear side of the black plinth (not the front of the plinth, the front is flawless), otherwise the plinth looks outstanding. I have included a picture of the ding, it is about 3/4" x 1/8" and is very shallow, the black color is intact and is not very noticeable. The original price on the classic 2 was about $4000. This auction includes both the turntable and the tonearm, but no cartridge. I have everything - the original owners manual, box, packing materials, and accessories (VPI includes quite a few accessories). I'm also throwing in another $200 in accessories including a Soundsmith Counterintuitive counterweight (a great add-on which really helps set the tracking force and azimuth precisely and easily), a spare Uni-pivot needle assembly, and a spare belt. When you look at the price of the latest Classic Signature model, it sells for somewhere between $5800 and $7800 new depending on the configuration. The Classic 2 has a high percentage of the performance of the Class Signature, it has the same platter, tonearm base with the adjustable VTA on the fly capability, and the upgraded 3D printed tonearm. The turntable comes in two boxes, one for the turntable and accessories, and another box for the platter. I will only ship to the continental United States, no international shipping. The platter alone weighs 20 lbs and the rest of the turntable is about 30 lbs, this is a fairly massive turntable. The later models such as the Classic 3 and Signature models have even heavier and stiffer plinths. No reserve, just a very reasonable starting bid.
