LOOKING FOR A GOOD LEADER: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 30 lbs. Hi, my name’s Belmont! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and was adopted for a few weeks, but it wasn’t a good fit so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for the right fit. I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot and now I’m ready to find my furever home. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I like the dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts and enjoyed playing with the other 3 dogs while I was in the prison/foster training program. My former family said that I like some dogs, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / My former family says I should not live with cats, and I did see a cat at Mostly Mutts and we all agree I should not live with cats. / I met some kids at Mostly Mutts and think mature kids 15+ years old could be a good match for me, so let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a sweet and active guy who is super outgoing, smart and friendly with my people, so I am sure to be a great companion in my new home! In the former home I was in for a few weeks, I was very leery of people coming into the home, so I did charge at some people. I’ve worked on this in the prison/foster training program and made improvements. Meeting new people on a leash is one technique that has helped me, and the head trainer will be glad to talk with you so we can be successful together. In the prison/foster training program, I was still not comfortable with the officers/guards so I would run towards them barking, but if they just stopped, so did I. Please don’t leave me unattended in a yard as I just may dig out and I don’t want to get lost or hurt. / My energy level is 5 – 7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are very good at Mostly Mutts and in my former home too. In the prison/foster training program I did a great job not getting into things, so I didn’t need to stay in a crate while my trainers were away or to sleep. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, in my former home and in the prison/foster training program. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to play with plush squeaky toys and I’m a curious guy, so I enjoy my walks (or even a run!) where I can check out everything going on in my environment. The leash comes out and I get soooo excited. When it is time for petting, I love to have my chest rubbed – ahhhh. / I’m not fond of people running by me while I’m on a walk or big trucks driving by me, so keep a good hold of my leash. I also don’t like it when people look at me through windows and I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a loving, furever home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
