JOB DESCRIPTION THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITIONSummer Program Counselor [Prime Time Seniors]Salary: $15.50Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this job is to oversee Prime Time Seniors and implement social, educational and physical activities throughout the summer season. For seven weeks, we work with Atlanta residents ages 55+ to promote social, cultural and historical awareness an activity-based curriculum. Duties include but are not limited to: Working cooperatively with administration and camp staff, supervising campers, planning and implementing activities, encouraging camper participation, maintaining facilities, keeping supply inventory, providing superior customer service, attending meetings, completing reports, instructing campers in emergency procedures, abiding by organizational policy and procedures and performing other duties as assigned.Work Delegation: * Collaborate with staff for the benefit of all camp affiliates. * Group supervision of campers in activities and daily camp operations. * Demonstrating paramount human relation skills when dealing with officials, administration, employees, guests, or visitors. * Promotion and compliance of organizational policies and procedures. * Identifies and meets camper needs daily. Planning and Organizing: * Planning and implementing recreational, educational, and social enrichment activities for campers. * Familiarizing yourself with camp lesson plans and implementing lessons. * Attending program/staff meetings designated by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required; * Admittance letter into a post-secondary program OR some college attendance. * One-year experience working with seniors or three (3) summers. * Must pass background checks for criminal and child protective findings. * Must pass a drug screening.Additional Information: * City of Atlanta required training May 28th - May 31, 2024. * Summer staff will be required to work an 8-hour shift Monday - Friday from June 3rd - July 20 ,2024; Vacation requests during this time will not be approved. * All summer staff must be actively involved with campers during swim times and wear a bathing suit (one-piece for females, swimming trunks with lining for males). Staff is not required to know how to swim or teach swim lessons. * Resumes will be accepted. CBF2024DPR2024
