Job Overview and Requirements Do you have a passion for teaching students of all ages? Would you like to join an enthusiastic team of swim instructors and coaches dedicated to helping people develop skills for a lifetime of fitness swimming? The Sportsplex Swim Academy provides year-round high-quality swim instruction with a strong emphasis on water safety. We are seeking experienced and professional swim Instructors who are dependable, committed to their work schedule, possess outstanding communication skills, take pride in their job and care about their swimmers. We have flexible schedules and can offer either part-time or full-time positions depending on your availability. What You Will Be Doing Instruct swimming lessons for all ages, in both group and private lesson formats Work with Tot Time Preschool and Summer Camp participants Create an educational, safe and inviting experience for all participants Initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and families Quickly and efficiently respond to member questions, comments, and concerns Provide a clean and organized pool area Maintain order and safety in swimming areas and assist in enforcing club and pool policies Provide leadership by demonstrating appropriate behavior and mentoring younger staff Cover lifeguard shifts as needed Attend All-Team meetings and appropriate department meetings, seminars, workshops, and training sessions Monitor trends in the aquatic industry and make recommendations to the Aquatics Director You Will Thrive In This Role If You Have a team player mentality Communicate effectively with children and adults Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Have strong troubleshooting skills Essential Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age Current certification in Lifeguard Training/First Aid/CPR & AED for P.R. Current certification in WSI/ASCA certifications preferred; Other Instructor Certifications & teaching experience accepted while becoming ASCA certified within 6 months of date of hire. Ability to lift 50 lbs Must be able to work weeknights and weekends.
