Crater Job Summary Builds and prepares wooden crates in preparation for the shipment of manufactured goods. May operate on First Shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) or Second Shift (1:30pm – 12:00am). Description Follows all work instructions and requirements to build and label wooden crates and boxes. Keeps accurate records/documents work procedures. Coordinates work with shipping schedule. Operates power cut off saw, lift tables, power shrink wrap and other electronic tools. Reads blueprints. Ensures quality and accuracy in work. Operate fork truck, crane and other machinery. Ensures work is completed in a safe and efficient manner. Observes all safety rules and requirements related to the operation of tools, machinery, and the disposal of scrap or other materials. Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards. Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements High school degree or equivalent. Demonstrated proficiency with basic math skills. Ability to utilize a computer to access drawings, work instructions, or other documents. Ability to read blueprints and follow standard work instructions. Ability to operate hand tools, including air powered nail and staple guns, wood saws, steel and plastic banding, measuring tools, such as a tape measure, and other related tools and equipment. Ability to obtain and maintain certification to drive and operate a fork truck, crane and/or other related vehicles or machinery. Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job.
