deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a mid to senior level Weapon System Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. Position Description: The successful candidate will be supporting a DoD program, and will provide systems engineering support, to interpret and apply high-level system requirements to practical avionics hardware and software design solutions. Responsibilities Include: Contribute to the team to perform architecture studies, concept development, ICD development/review, procurement, verification planning, vehicle integration, system build and checkout, and operations support Coordinate in areas of vehicle configuration, flight sciences, hardware, software, system safety, supplier management, fault tolerance analysis / schemes, FMECA, FHA, and telemetry downlink / uplink Review and assess interface specifications, CONOPS definition, and other design documents related to Avionics subsystems such as (Electrical Power Systems, Flight Computing, Command and Data Handling, etc) Review and assess system, subsystem, and/or component level requirements and associated traceability/decomposition Support the execution of ground and flight test operations Education Requirements: BS Aerospace Engineering, systems engineering or related technical field Experience Requirements: 7+ years of relevant experience Experiences performing architecture studies, concept development, ICD development/review, procurement, verification planning, vehicle integration, system build and checkout, and operations support Experience with system, subsystem, and/or component level requirements and associated traceability/decomposition Experience with system verification activities for flight and validation of system, sub-system and component requirements Domain knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (e.g., how to write a good requirement; standard verification methods; functional decomposition; standard diagramming techniques; risk and opportunity management) Domain knowledge of the Systems Engineering V process Special Skills Desired: Domain knowledge of Rotorcraft or Aviation platform and systems Experience using MBSE processes and tools Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance .
