SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for monitoring and co-managing loan portfolios in conjunction with Commercial Services Relationship Managers; assisting with the retention and expansion of existing client relationships; ensuring the effective and efficient support of the an assigned commercial lending portfolio; fostering the bank's relationship management culture; and, communicating with relationship management personnel with respect to portfolio management objectives, performance and other factors. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Monitors and co-manages a commercial lending portfolio in conjunction with relationship management personnel: Employs credit skills to make loan decisions, actions, and/or recommendations, based on accurate, fully disclosed and complete understanding of each customer's financial needs and condition, which adhere to the requirements of the Commercial Loan Policy Manual. Protects F&M Trust's assets and earnings by being accountable for credit decisions and profitability of assigned portfolio. Ensures timely receipt and analysis of financial information for all relationships in assigned portfolio. Ensures proper documentation of all loans, comprehends the underlying business issues of loan documentation, and solicits assistance of the Document Review Officer or Legal Counsel when applicable. Maintains an accurate risk rating assignment for all portfolio loans, identify and notify Senior Management of any problem loans and follow through with corrective actions, as appropriate. Develops and regularly reports the status of credit risks rated transitional, OAEM, or Substandard to LMC. Inputs, updates, and manages all tasks within the Commercial Pipeline software application from account creation through closing. 2. Fosters the bank's relationship management culture: Provides direct service to customers for commercial loan services and assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other areas of the bank. Solicits new business from present customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank retail and commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell or to make referrals in conjunction with such needs. Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact commercial lending. Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives and discusses performance with Commercial Services Market Manager on a frequent basis. Participates in relationship management meetings with community office personnel, as necessary. REQUIRED EDUCATION: An Associates Degree in a related field is required; or, equivalent combination of education and specialized banking experience related to community banking and/or commercial or small business lending. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of eight (8) years' experience in related positions. Previous experience with personal computers, Word and Excel software and office equipment is also required. REQUIRED SKILLS: Must possess a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact the commercial lending sales function. Also required are strong communication skills; well-developed sales/service orientation; and above-average organizational and analytical skills. Must have the ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with fellow bank employees and customers. Must be able to work at a pace that ensures that established deadlines are met.
