Our client, Community Housing Solutions of Guilford , is seeking candidates for the position of Home Repair Director. Community Housing Solutions is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing to low-income households. We are working toward the elimination of substandard housing by restoring dignity and hope to families living in Guilford County.As a Home Repair Director you will: Conduct home repair assessments and prepare estimates. Plan the schedule for home repair projects approved by the Home Repair Committee, utilizing employee carpenters, subcontractors and volunteers. Pull permits and procure materials for assigned projects. Manage the financial performance of assigned projects and make sure that all project paperwork is completed and projects are properly closed-out. Maintain excellent relationships with agency volunteers, funders and other community partners. The ideal candidate will: have a high school diploma or GED (4 year degree is preferred) have at least 5 years experience in residential construction and have general carpentry skills (a general contractor's license is a plus) have demonstrated experience in project management, preferrably in restoration, renovation and repair. have strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with volunteers. be able to meet the physcial demands of the position, including operating power tools, working on a construction site and lifting up to 50 pounds. have a valid drivers license.
