Christian Care Communities is currently seeking an Activities Assistant for our Christian Health Center located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Our Mission is to enhance the journey of life for older adults. We are Kentucky's largest faith-inspired, non-profit provider of affordable senior living and long-term care for older adults. The community offers a quality senior living experience on our lovely 40-acre tree-lined community with an array of garden home styles, apartments, and services including our 116-bed skilled nursing and rehab area. Title: Activities Assistant Shift: Days (Every Weekend) Status: Part Time Department: Activities It is the dedication, skill & compassion of our extraordinary employees who allow us to live out our mission every day. Requirements for Activities Assistant: High school diploma or (GED) Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school. 1-year related experience. - Required 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program setting, at least one of which was in a /resident activity program in a health care setting. - Preferred Certified Nurse Aid - Preferred Responsibilities for Activities Assistant: Assists in planning, scheduling, conducting, and supervising activities/events for residents which provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercises, relaxation, intellectual development, and utilization of their talents. Assists the Activity Director in the community in the planning related to the interests of the Facility and the services and needs of the residents and families. Encourages residents' religious participation, coordinates with Chaplain, and provides spiritual material to residents at their request. Arranges transportation to outside events/activities when necessary. Assists in planning and performing activities for room-bound residents including writing letters, running errands, reading, and securing material for residents with sensory and hearing deficiencies. Encourages resident participation in activities when practical. Responsible for the understanding of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) which consists of three basic components. The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Version 3.0, the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process, and the RAI Utilization Guidelines. Assures appropriate sharing documentation of activity-related forms and assessments. Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients, and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate, and friendly manner, always maintaining the "Golden Rule" approach: practices patience and kindness.
