*APPLICANT CLOSING DATE: May 4, 2023* DEPARTMENT: DCGC Licensing STATUS: Full-Time FLSA: Non-Exempt LOCATION: Santa Rosa WORKING HOURS: This is an hourly position. The incumbent is expected to work normal business hours but must be flexible and available to occasionally work early mornings, evenings or weekends to meet the needs of the business. SUMMARY: Responsibilities include coordination, evaluation and processing of gaming, employee and vendor background licensing investigations for the Dry Creek Gaming Commission. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Reviews Gaming Packets with prospective casino vendors and employees ensuring applications are complete. Interacts with the public and ensures professional customer service. Conducts background investigations for all gaming applicants assuring compliance with all tribal, federal and state laws, regulations and procedures. Process applicant information into background system, read and understand background and FBI reports, travel to courts and police departments for further investigation, review files and capable of finding discrepancies. Understanding of Key Employees and what tribal, federal and state laws require of them. Verify vendor and employee personal references and employment history. Data entry, update and maintain spreadsheets. Maintain a complete and confidential filing system for all investigation materials and related information. Process applicant fingerprints with Livescan computerized fingerprint system. Create employee/vendor badges with Autobadge and camera system. Ensure proper Casino Proximity Card access controls are provided to each employee. Generate detailed and accurate reports for Gaming Commission use. Prepare files for transmission to federal and state regulatory agencies as required. Prepare investigation files and reports for Gaming Commission review and approval. Abide by all Commission confidentiality and other policies and procedures. Communicate with applicant references and other gaming regulatory agencies. Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to Dry Creek Gaming Commission and encourages others to do the same. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures. Attends all required meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Three (3) years of administrative experience required. Background investigation experience preferred. Must have basic knowledge of Windows based applications including MS-Office (Word, Excel), MS-Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Must be willing to travel during business hours. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Must have experience working with highly confidential information. Must be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, establish and meet deadlines. Must be able to work under extreme pressure. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a professional appearance at all times. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Notary Public license preferred. Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty five (25) pounds. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
