A Day in the Life of an Accounts Payable Specialist You are the gate keeper for invoices, making daily inputs and keeping detailed records. You'll ensure invoices are complete by clarifying invoice items, prices, data and signatures. You'll assemble and review invoices and prepare vouchers with attention to every detail. You'll help ensure the financial health of the company and get to work on a team that is diverse, dynamic, supportive and talented. Qualifications of an Accounts Payable Specialist : An associate's degree in accounting At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience Knowledge of basic accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and experience with accounting software Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment is a plus Strong attention to detail You'll be great here if: Speed and accuracy are your two middle names Job cost and departmentalized accounting are second nature to you You enjoy collaborating and providing great internal and external customer service You know your way around a spreadsheet and love bringing order to chaos You enjoy finding more efficient ways to get things done and bringing those ideas to the table You deliver high-quality work on time Work Schedule for an Accounts Payable Specialist : This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week. The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters. We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail/MARC Station and bus depot.
