Salary: $25,608.50 - $32,573.50 Grade: 14 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Research Support Assistant III position. The chosen candidate will work for 20 hours a week (50% effort based on 40 hours/week). This position is for an ongoing longitudinal study of mental health and health risk behaviors in young adults with and without a stigmatized chronic illness. The Research Assistant will be trained in and conduct psychiatric interviews, neurocognitive screens and assessments of a range of psychological, social, and health risk behavior factors. Previous individuals in this role have gained research skills, participated in publications, attended graduate school in public health, psychology, and medicine. Duties and Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will be part of a team and be responsible for: Participant interviewing and recruitment Measures to be administered in participant interviews include but are not limited to: Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children, Version 5 (DISC-V); PHQ-9; GAD-7; Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); Everyday Discrimination Scale; and demographics Telephone screening, coordination of study visits, and processing participant payments Library research and reference building Preparing and cleaning datasets; developing data dictionaries Preparations for presentations and drafts for publications Manuscript writing, including the opportunity to be a leading author on papers and conference presentations Excellent library research and computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and SPSS, or the ability to learn new software programs quickly Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and detail-orientation Administrative support for the Principal Investigator and Project Director, including: ensuring appropriate documentation of all research activities and human subject reporting requirements; coordinating professional meetings or events; drafting/proofing documents; helping with routine office duties such as phone calls, copying, running interoffice errands, room/conference call scheduling, and filing Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in the social sciences with related coursework; and/or equivalent in relevant Education and/or Training Experience (at least 1 year) conducting structured, in-person interviews covering complex and sensitive physical and mental health issues, preferably with young adult populations Preferred Qualifications: Experience (at least one year) working with vulnerable participants affected by chronic health conditions, poverty, trauma, and mental health challenges. RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as two (2) or more weeks since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
