Position Purpose & Summary This position will contribute to the overall success of the golf operation, including participating in the member and guest experience while at Kissing Camels Golf Club. The seasonal Golf Shop Assistant shall assist the Club and Resort in the day-to-day golf operations of the facility. This position is similar, but not the same, as an Assistant Golf Professional. Essential Functions: Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection, control and manage play via the tee sheet software Assist with the opening and closing procedures Assist in managing facility tournament operations and weekly events (including planning, tournament execution, set-up, preparation, scoring prize distribution, billing, and follow-up). Assist with group programs, clinics, and junior camps Assist with men's, women's and junior golf events and programs Provide club repair services for members and guests Assist with inventory control of hard goods, soft goods and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale, pricing, display, and sales Aide to the overall experience of golf at the facility Always conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments Assist with outside services when business levels deem necessary Assist with starting duties and ranger duties when business levels deem necessary Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points. Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Be informed on, promote club activities, and services Cleaning and prepping golf carts for daily use (if needed) Staging golf carts (if needed) Assist in general cart fleet maintenance (if needed) Assist in the daily setup and over-all experience of the driving range (if needed) Setting up and breaking down - driving range stations (if needed) Picking and cleaning golf balls - driving range (if needed) Must be proactive in anticipating member/guests needs Effectively communicate all pertinent information amongst team members and supervisory staff Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task Must be highly service focused with a desire to engage with members & guests Demonstrate initiative Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness a must Responsible for compliance requirements (breaks, time clock punches, uniform standards, etc.) Assist with member/guest service resolution (LEARN Model) Assist with daily golf bag movement tasks Emptying trash & laundry Responsible for all opening/closing shift tasks Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" standards and set a positive tone for every interaction Provide extraordinary service that is "Enriching by Nature" Embrace, embody, demonstrate, and encourage wellness and the STRATA virtues through interactions, performance, and commitments Uphold the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club's brand, culture, vision, mission, and values Be empowered to make things go right if they go wrong Give the guest/member a fond farewell Address feedback by utilizing the LEARN Model Demonstrate a professional appearance and be attentive to what matters most Comply with company policies and procedures Observe and adhere to safety guidelines Marginal Functions: Communicate daily with staff and other departments regarding duties and activities. Perform other duties as assigned Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed Displays care in use of equipment and maintains an organized and professional work environment Position Requirements: Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as applicable Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.) Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; generate alternative solutions to problems Guest and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services. This includes guests needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction. Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: College degree required or in-progress (PGM Student or similar) Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification (if applicable) Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through a PGA PGM program Fundamental knowledge of the game, Rules of Golf, facility operations and tournament operations Organizational skills Computer knowledge - Proficient in Word, Excel, email, internet use tournament software and POS system Ability to communicate effectively on all levels (verbal and written) Club/resort, facility/operation background (minimum of six months job related experience) License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Valid Driver's License External and Internal Personal Contact: Communications: Dail y - Pre-shift meetings and stand-ups Weekly - Event summary and follow-up Occasionally - Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions Teamwork and Collaboration: This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross-departmental communication.
