We are seeking a Network Support Technician who will be part of the Global Business Systems team that provides technical support and delivery across the A-Gas Group, the position holder will be responsible for providing support to both Infrastructure and Security tasks across the Americas region. This position will be responsible for facilitating onsite activities across the operating region, including the installation of hardware, software, and associated peripheral equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the resolution of security alerts using our monitoring software and service desk ticketing suite. Main Duties and Responsibilities Service Management Act as a trusted point of contact for the use of services provided by Business Systems. Monitor IT systems, reporting and recording issues in the Service Management tool. Respond to requests for service, help, or advice from customers. Escalate high-priority requests to ensure all issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. Post and maintain information relating to current service issues in the agreed channels. Contribute to continuous improvement, and incorporate best practice into operational responsibilities. Provide assistance on project and workstream developments where requested in order to help deliver project objectives. Infrastructure Management Build, configure, administer, and support infrastructure technologies and solutions. Technologies and solutions can include computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), and open-source packages and solutions. The use of virtual and cloud computing such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Investigate problems in systems, processes, and services, with an understanding of how to route/coordinate for resolution. Contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures In the event of a major incident or service failure, escalate to Major Incident Management. Support the Major Incident Management Team by providing comprehensive communication and support relating to the current status of the event. Security Management Advocate and ensure the business follows security best practices. Work with colleagues and Managed Service Providers to implement security controls to protect the organization's infrastructure, systems, and digital presence Manage incidents with 3rd party and the wider incident management team support. Work with stakeholders to investigate active alerts, remediate, close, and provide feedback to the business. Escalate and communicate awareness of security incidents as quickly as possible Provide training and education on the importance of information security. Assist the Security Project Manager with responding to any security breaches or intrusions that may occur Essential Qualifications Knowledge of ITIL or similar service delivery methodology; Project Management experience Experience in using an IT fault logging or call recording system. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructures, OS platforms, hardware, storage, and networks; Windows Server; VMware / HyperV; Distributed switching Meraki Networks; Enterprise backup software - Veeam; Operating and supporting cloud-based platforms and services - Azure; Experience working in a busy and demanding environment. Excellent organizational and coordination abilities Must be able to deliver accurate work during periods of pressure, and on own initiative Has an awareness of cyber security and how to achieve compliance and influence best practices and behavior Desired Qualifications Experience of working 1st - 3rd line support Experience with a fault logging/tracking system Supporting others in their use of IT equipment or software Microsoft Certification ITIL Intermediate Qualification in Service Operation Project management certification Experience in an IT service and Infrastructure role Some knowledge of IT security monitoring Experience in procurement and supplier relationship building Experience in network management and help desk support Why A-Gas?
