Hope For Youth has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist in our Finance Department. Hope For Youth is a nonprofit organization specializing in child welfare services. For over 50 years, Hope For Youth strives to provide positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and families. This is a newly created full-time role and an opportunity to make a difference in a workplace doing great things for children and families of Long Island! This position will be dedicated to all aspects of payroll, including processing, reporting, managing accruals, and processing employee changes and benefit deductions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processing payroll Review timecards Confirm payroll deductions are accurate Set up deductions and update per employee request documents Process adjustments and changes Ensure proper allocations for all funding sources Reconciling payroll to cost centers Prepare payroll journal entry into Fund EZ Reconciling payroll for quarterly taxes Reconciling payroll for unforeseen payroll regs (COVID19) Provide payroll reports for billing out vouchers Manage payroll correspondences Maintain payroll deductions on Fringe Benefits, including FSA/HSA accounts, 403b deductions, Medical and Dental deductions, AFLAC, Vision, NYS PFL contributions, ACA Accruals, Benefit reconciliation, COBRA tracking Maintain payroll accruals on sick, vacation and personal time and monitoring of time usage Ensure ongoing accuracy of payroll data and pull ad-hoc and reports as needed Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors Process all employee changes in Payroll System including but not limited to new hires, terminations, job changes and rate changes Tracking of agency equipment Implementing workflow improvements for Payroll System and payroll process Oversee and conduct reports from payroll system Essential Skills/Requirements: Proven experience running payroll, preferably ADP/WFN Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices Solid knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. ADP, payroll systems) and databases Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail Excellent communication skills HS/GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred Onsite work Mon-Fri Pay: Max to $65,000 depending on experience Benefits •Benefit eligibility commences on the first of the month following the first 30 days of employment •90% Employer-paid medical premiums •Generous paid time off for all employees regularly working over 20 hours •Agency-funded Pension Plan •Pre-tax savings plans: self-directed 403(b), 529, FSA and HSA Accounts •Agency-paid life insurance and disability, and for some positions, long-term disability •Training programs and Tuition Assistance and free tuition credits are also available •Employees may be eligible for Student Loan Forgiveness Programs •Special Events and Recognition Awards •Meaningful work that makes a difference in the lives of children and families of Long Island! •Volunteer and Internship opportunities available within •Supportive like-minded, mission-driven co-workers www.HFYNY.org Job Posted by ApplicantPro
