ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Commissioning Engineer is responsible primarily for the machine startup phase of a typical custom equipment project. A Commissioning Engineer reads and understands electrical and pneumatic schematics, understands electrical wiring methods, panel buildup and troubleshooting. An Instrumentation & Controls Technician also de-bugs complex electrical and pneumatic functions. This is a mid-level position, capable of working independently and troubleshooting complex electrical functions. Responsibilities Include: Systematic First Time Machine Power Up Electrical, control system Checkout & commissioning Including All I/O Pneumatic/Hydraulic Device Checkout & Setup Test Circuit Checkout Custom Program Loading and Initial Checkout System Repeatability Study Execution Travel to customer facility (domestic and international) for equipment installation Checking electrical installations on-site, calibrating systems, and configuring test sequences. The commissioning engineer will work with customers to achieve system functionality sign-off and provide initial training on the operation of the supplied system. Commissioning engineers will also be involved in customer test cycle development using the proprietary software and providing customer service for investigating system faults. The commissioning engineer will support both customers and overseas company development engineers with diagnostics and fault finding through phone, email, and remote access QUALIFICATIONS Typically, the prospective candidates will have 3 years + experience with a working background in control panel building, automated test equipment wiring/fault finding, and PC conversant with experience in VB or Win C# Candidates will have an advanced technical qualification in either Electronics, Software or instrumentation. PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS Open and effective communication Ability to work to time schedules to meet client deadlines Ability to adapt and improvise in order to safely test equipment that is not finalized Willingness to make (and learn from) mistakes daily while maintaining a positive outlook Comfortable working independently or within a team structure Job Posted by ApplicantPro
