Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes to transition new products from R&D to production. This position is primarily geared towards products in low-rate production that consist of high-precision components and/or complex system architectures. This position will also assist in setup and process implementation for transitioning of higher-rate items to the full-scale production team and well as assist with current commercial and military product manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas: Setting up new product assembly lines Design of production tooling/fixtures for quality and assembly consistency Developing assembly work instructions Use of production travelers for process tracking and traceability General knowledge of various fabrication/manufacturing processes such as: CNC machining, sheet metal cutting/forming, injection molding, rotational molding, tube assembly fabrication DFM GD&T Specific responsibilities Guide junior manufacturing, industrial, and process engineers Plan, design and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new product development Work with design engineers to determine critical-to-function features and determine best methods to ensure quality and reliability while maintaining ease of manufacturing /assembly Review detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for accuracy and tolerances Determine parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications Design tooling and fixturing for production and quality control Develop and optimize process flow and work instructions Support low volume production to verify achievement of process plans and targets for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost. Maximize production efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization Identify equipment/resource constraints and opportunities Position Requirements BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering with GPA not less than 3.3 US Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations Mainstream Engineering Corporation is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
