Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer, Entry Level Overview SimTech, Inc., a 2021 and 2020 Best Places to Work Winner, is seeking an experienced candidate for an Entry Level Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer to join our growing, diverse and dynamic team in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities Provide technical contributions to Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) analysis tasks to include algorithm development for guidance and control law, navigation, and target state estimation. Participate in Tiger Team events to help solve technical problems related to GNC by evaluating algorithms, missile telemetry, simulation results and communicating root cause and solutions to the Government customer. Participate in various programmatic and technical reviews meetings (e.g. Preflight review, TRR, Postflight review, and other meetings) to provide technical and programmatic-based system recommendations and risk assessments. Support ground and flight test events in execution of missile programs. Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks. Author, review, and coordinate documents and data to aid the Government in decision-making. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements Successful completion of a standard professional curriculum in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree is required. Must have 1+ years of technical background in missile systems. Experience with six degree of freedom missile simulation. Experience with flight control and guidance systems. Experience with Python and C++. Must be a self-starter, team player with a desire to work with a team of engineers, integrators, analysts and others in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Must be detail-oriented, goal-oriented and mission-focused. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance. Physical Description Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work. About SimTech, Inc.
