Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing - Packaging

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the sourcing of several strategic packaging supply categories along with other mid/minor categories, with a total spend accountability of ~$50M+. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is also responsible for the development and implementation of long term sourcing strategies and plans to meet the company's business growth, through both market and need analysis, cost analysis, risk mitigation/management and supplier relationship management. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Drives Total Cost of Ownership thinking and cost modelling, analytics for the group. Responsible for cultivating and managing vendor and industry relationships. Will be a strategic partner to our innovation groups, providing support in sourcing of new items/categories to the company. Analyze commodity/raw material market trends and make strategic recommendations to manage Commodity Risk. Continuously drives improvement and cost savings through innovative sourcing processes including strong collaboration with R&D and Manufacturing Collaborate with our supply base partners to develop innovative approaches and methodologies that address present and future supply chain requirements Keeps abreast of changing technology and monitors global markets that influence cost, quality, and value Develops new suppliers or alternate sources of supply to optimize cost, quality and service Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost and quality improvements. Responsible for cultivating and managing vendor and industry relationships Provide strategic partnership to our innovation groups, providing support in sourcing of new items/categories to the company JOB REQUIREMENTS: Action oriented, innovative deal maker and expert negotiator, driven by a passion for continuous improvement. Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of strategic sourcing Skilled in total cost of ownership and should cost analytics Action orientation and proven ability to achieve results Excellent strategic, analytical and problem solving skills Demonstrated success initiating and/or leading cross-functional teams in support of cost savings and/or other sourcing strategies. Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written). Must possess influencing and collaboration skills. Cross-functional leadership experience required. Commodity Risk Management experience preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS Required; preferably in a related field such as Finance, Business, or Supply Chain (Purchasing or Operations related field). 5+ years of direct sourcing experience required; packaging materials preferred CPG experience preferred Welch's is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer: M/F/D/V Job Posted by ApplicantPro
