Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a FERC Relicensing Project Manager in our Pacific Northwest Region. We have offices in Portland, OR, and Redmond, WA. Salary Range: $83,000-$125,000 Who You Are A regulatory professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience conducting FERC licensing and compliance work, as well as state and federal environmental permitting experience (i.e, US Army Corps of Engineers 404 permits, State 401 Clean Water Act, SEPA, CEQA). A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Ecology, Planning, Outdoor Recreation, Political Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required. Knowledgeable: Experience with federal regulations and acts such as the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and the Coastal Zone Management Act. Professional or collegiate-level writing, communication, and research techniques. Experience with impacts analysis, agency consultation, public process/facilitation, issue scoping, plus the ability to navigate regulations to develop strategies addressing major project issues (regulatory and/or technical). Relationship-focused: Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship building skills and the ability to interface with the public, state and federal agencies, and clients in a variety of settings. Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team across multiple geographic locations. Project Manager: Experience with large-scale, complex projects across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., linear energy and transmission, and/or habitat restoration/mitigation projects). Additional Requirements Must be able to travel on occasion for in-state and out-of-state meetings or assignments. Proficiency with MS Office Suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States and the ability to be authorized to work in Canada. About the Position This position will require work in Kleinschmidt's ongoing hydroelectric relicensing/licensing and permitting efforts. The successful candidate will participate as part of a team of technical professionals working on renewable (primarily hydroelectric) and other related projects, primarily in the PNW, California and Alaska, with opportunities to work on other projects across the U.S. and Canada. The candidate will also work to identify and pursue new, regional opportunities . Day-to-day tasks will include project and team management. The successful candidate will work with and lead project teams consisting of regulatory professionals and scientists with a wide range of tasks, including preparing applications for federal hydropower licenses, preparing state and federal environmental permits, and developing environmental analyses. Beyond project and people management, tasks will also include research, review of regulations, writing and summarizing environmental and engineering data, coordinating, and attending meetings with resource agencies, and schedule and budget planning Who We Are Kleinschmidt is one the few employee-owned consulting firms in North America specializing in hydropower and we have been doing it for more than 50 years.
