A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EHS TEACHER As a full-time EHS Teacher, you have the opportunity to work with children and parents with varying backgrounds and special needs in our EHS classrooms. Working with Teacher Assistants and other EHS staff, you will implement Early Head Start services according to the Center Based Policy and Procedures and all Head Start Performance Standards. You provide quality, developmentally appropriate, responsive infant/toddler care and communicate positively with their parents. You will provide developmental and behavioral assessments on all incoming children. Here at Kids on the Move, we know the joy of seeing a child blossom after overcoming a difficult learning challenge. As an EHS Teacher, the simplest things excite you such as a child making unprompted eye contact, trying new foods, or saying hi to a peer. These accomplishments may seem simple, but you understand the struggle that led to their success. You enjoy coming to work to interact and have fun with children and teachers in varying classes. That is not to say you never face challenges. Thankfully, you are provided with resources and a highly supportive and collaborative environment where you are able to ask questions and work on finding solutions. Every day is an adventure because no two days are the same when working with children. QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or equivalent course work or . CDA with infant/toddler credential Experience working in a classroom setting (0-1 yr) Effective oral and written communication in English Working knowledge of computers and professional office software and equipment Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or equivalent course work 2-3 year's experience in a classroom setting Bi-lingual English/Spanish. Potential additional compensation depending on fluency PRE-HIRE Requirements: Medical certification that employees can perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation within two weeks of hire and every five years thereafter. TB test Criminal background check upon hire and every five (5) years thereafter Continuous CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications. Must have valid driver license and verification of Auto insurance compliant with Utah state requirements. WORK SCHEDULE This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
