Center for the Prevention of Hate and Bullying (CPHB) Program Manager Work Location: Anaheim, CA. Term: Full-time, occasional evening and weekends required Position Status: Exempt Pay Range: $70,000 - 90,000, commensurate with experience. Reports to : Civil Rights Managing Attorney Generous Benefits : 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance for employees & dependents, 3% employer-matched retirement plan, 12 vacation days, 10 sick days and 10 holidays, hybrid work schedule utilized through June 2023. About the Role : The Center for Prevention of Hate and Bullying (CPHB) Program Manager will report to the CPHB Director and is primarily responsible for managing CPHB's hate crime, bullying, and other educational programming and events related to the Center. This position is responsible for developing and delivering public education programs, interactive workshops, training sessions, and forums on issues of hate crimes, bullying, and discrimination. The CPHB Program Manager drives the successful maintenance and completion of grant deliverables related to this scope of work. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Supervise day-to-day CPHB activities to increase CAIR-LA's presence, accessibility, responsiveness, and assistant to Black Arab Middle Eastern Muslim South Asian (BAMEMSA) individuals who have been victims of hate crimes/incidents, school bullying, and issues of campus climate through community outreach and educational activities. Manage and collaborate with CPHB staff members. Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with key institutions, including legislative offices, law enforcement agencies, academic institutions, and partner organizations to address issues of hate, bullying, and discrimination. Lead the development of surveys, focus groups, and other research initiatives as well as support the drafting and publication of a biannual school bullying and campus climate report. Draft, revise, and keep current training programs slides and curriculum on issues of hate, bullying, and systemic discrimination in collaboration with the civil rights and policy teams. Drive the education and empowerment of community members on their rights through interactive presentations, workshops, and informational literature. Form best practices training protocols for law enforcement agencies to address and properly report hate crimes and hate incidents. Develop best practices training protocols for academic institutions, including K-12 schools and universities to address issues of bullying and campus climate. Serve as point of contact for the strategy, promotion, event planning, organization, and delivery of hate crime, bullying, and discrimination programs for the Center of the Prevention of Hate and Bullying. Create and distribute educational and marketing material and maintain updated inventory tracking of all outreach literature. Develop and maintain CAIR-LA's presence and accessibility to community and drive continued community support of CAIR-LA. Represent and speak publicly on behalf of CAIR-CA in relevant coalitions, partnerships, and other external meetings, activities, and events. Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure successful delivery of programming, outreach activities, and community engagement. Oversee general speaking requests and other opportunities of engagement on issues of hate, bullying, and discrimination. Collaborate with the grants team to ensure the successful submission and completion of grants, including support in preparing grant applications, ensuring the successful completion of deliverables, and developing grant reports. Other office duties as needed including day-to-day operational tasks and assisting with organizational fundraising events. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or at least four years of experience in relevant field is required. At least three years of experience in public policy, social services, mental health, legal practice, or related field. Minimum three years of management experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills including public speaking experience. Fluent/proficient in one of the following languages: Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, or Urdu is preferred. Familiarity, knowledge, and experience working with the American Muslim community is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with a high degree of professionalism and ability to interface with staff, community leaders, volunteers, legislators, government agencies, and other key stakeholders. Strong time management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability for managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Demonstrated intentionality in strategizing and planning based on goals and expected outcomes. Ability to be productive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Access to reliable transportation to drive to various Southern California cities. High degree of self-motivation and initiative. A strong commitment to social justice and CAIR's mission and values. Basic computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office Suite.
