JOB DESCRIPTION Lynntech's mechanical engineers take part in all stages of technology and product development, from researching and brainstorming the very first concepts all the way through advanced engineering and manufacturing development that build products to improve lives. Our engineers are commonly engaged in the following activities: Participate in concept generation and problem-solving in brainstorming sessions with talented and experienced innovators. Design and develop prototypes and test stands to support emerging technologies utilizing state-of-the-art hardware components and systems. Plan and execute preliminary and critical design reviews. Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and processes and monitor outcomes with a critical eye for improvement. Manage the execution of development efforts on projects. In addition to these responsibilities, an engineer on the leadership track will also develop increasing responsibilities to supervise and develop other engineers and technical team members. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical engineering work and project management in order to effectively lead and support their team as well as perform those duties themselves. Experience in leading teams and developing and coaching individuals is also desired. It is anticipated that the candidate would have some prior leadership experience to draw on but may also require time to further develop leadership capability specific to Lynntech's team environment and culture. QUALIFICATIONS Basic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, as well as: 2-4 years of relevant engineering work experience. We are looking for engineers with technical experience and the desire to take on leadership responsibilities for managing and developing engineers as they progress through their careers. Some experience in a leadership role (in a previous job, organization, etc.) and the desire to learn and grow into a supervisor position. Experience utilizing core engineering principles in a research and product development environment. Strong communication and integration skills - relaying important details between engineers, other engineering teams, and external customers, and bringing people, ideas, and plans together. Must be well-rounded. Capable of understanding the big picture application of the overall system as well as the fine details. Strong self-starter who can work autonomously Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented environment Capable of prioritizing and balancing competing project demands and conflicting project requirements Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a team player The following attributes are valued in an applicant, although passion for the work and the ability to learn and grow is the foremost requirement.
