Job Description There is a position available for a Team Lead, Production with Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Moorpark, CA. This position is considered a full time regular. General Summary: The Production Team Lead will report to the Shop Floor supervisor and will be responsible for the overall manufacturing process in their assigned area as well as monitoring of product quality and output yields for their line. The Production Lead will assist the Production Supervisor in the ongoing training and development and accountability of all team members. The Production Lead, sets the example for the line employees and supports the Production Supervisor with cultivating a highly functioning team. Responsibilities: Ensuring there is adequate employee coverage and informing the Production Supervisor of any employee absences during the shift. Ensuring that all required paperwork is present during the shift, and is being completed and used according to appropriate MI and Router. Complete competence and understanding of Manufacturing Instructions and drawings to ensure all products meet specifications. Directs and assigns work to employees within their specific area/line as needed to reach Safety, Quality and Production goals. Leads, guides, motivates and communicates to line employees professionally and competently. Provides training and development to new and existing employees to cultivate high performing teams. Holds employees accountable for attendance, performance, productivity and teamwork. Ensures that the Safety and Quality of the product is maintained throughout the entire process. Notifies Supervisor/Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions or problems that are impeding Safety, Quality or Production. Ensures that all safety related concerns are communicated and addressed in a real time basis. Ensures all employees are operating equipment according to procedures. Ensures employees are following Safety measures required for job requirements and SOP. Collects and reviews all documentation at shift end to ensure processes were followed and Data is recorded correctly. Keeps area clean and organized at all times. Reports any Safety and/or Quality concerns to the Supervisor real time. Communicates any performance concerns to Production Supervisor. Ensures all activities are aligned with company Core Values. Job Specifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must demonstrate ability to setup and monitor equipment through written and verbal instructions. Minimum 2 years manufacturing related experience with ability to use and read accurately various measuring instruments. Ability to perform fine mechanical assembly including resistance welding, light machining and electrical testing Certified soldering skills per J-STD/NASA a plus. Defense and Aerospace Industry experience including working knowledge of company product lines a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Able to work on feet for 8 hours and/or the duration of scheduled shift. Able to lift 25lbs. Ability to bend, reach, twist, push, pull. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and leadership skills.
