HOURS - 40 hour work week Who We Are The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. We are committed to integrating Harm Reduction practices into our programs and to prioritizing the rights, dignity, and choices of those who use substances. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Youth Services - Regina's Place How You Will Make an Impact In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of adolescent mothers and their children living at Regina's Place - Youth Services. Services to clients include backssment, crisis prevention and intervention, supportive counseling, education, advocacy, social/recreational programming, life skills teaching ie. cooking and linkages with other community services. What You'll Bring to Our Team Primary case management and community development skills acquired through a post-secondary education in social services such as Child and Youth Worker or Social Service Worker Experience working with adolescent mothers and children, knowledge of the Child and Family Service Act Proficiency The ability to complete housekeeping/cleaning duties in a residential setting is required A valid driver's license is required Have knowledgeable of and experience working with transitional age, street-involved and homeless youth A proven ability to work independently, taking initiative and thinking creatively are required Fluency in French and/or another language(s) is also an asset CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required Good judgement, problem-solving.
