Led by groundbreaking pioneers within Aerospace and Defense, including former leaders of NASA, McDonnell Douglas, Northrop Grumman, Airbus, Learjet, and Gulfstream, they are at the forefront of improving overall flying experience and achieving ambitious sustainability goals in both commercial airlines and freight.Volt is immediately hiring a Thermo/Fluids Engineer that is local to Long Beach or willing to relocate to their beautiful 300,000 square foot facility in Long Beach.As a Thermo/Fluids Engineer-You will own the development of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic analysis and tools used to support various aircraft systems. You will be responsible for developing requirements and supporting aircraft systems in the validation process. You will coordinate between the various systems and test teams - Environmental Control Systems, Electrical Systems, Flight Controls, Fuel Systems, Hydraulics Systems, Landing Gear Systems, Lab and Flight Test - as necessary to ensure the technical success of the aircraft programs.This is a Full time Direct Hire opportunity with an industry leader in their field!Required Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university (or international equivalent). * 7-10 years of experience * Experience with Part 25 aircraft development. * Experience with software tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens NX, MATLAB, Simulink, and Microsoft Project preferred. Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations preferred.Who You Are You are passionate about accelerating the future of aerospace and crave the opportunity to join a team of like-minded individuals. Key responsibilities include: * Lead thermal fluids and pneumatic efforts as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, analyze, integrate, test, validate the systems and technologies. * Facilitate the selection and development of JetZero's thermal software and analysis capabilities. * Expertise in any of the following focus areas: Fluid dynamics, heat transfer, reacting CFD simulation. * Generate, review, approve, and manage system analysis to ensure compliance with regulations. * Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction - contribute towards requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements. * Perform fluid flow path design, data analyses, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and optimization analyses, including modeling and analysis of thermodynamic systems for power generation, waste heat recovery, and cooling. * Provide direction, oversight, and mentoring to analysis team members. * Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results. * Support and/or lead root cause and corrective action investigations using standard problem-solving approaches. * Able to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes, and to apply analysis techniques across a range of technical disciplines. * Composes quality documentation, written communications, and delivers clear presentation of internal and customer deliverables including final analysis reports, test reports, engineering calculations of record, technical letters, and failure reports.Salary: $125000.00-$150000.00 per year*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Benefits: * Unlimited PTO * 10 paid holidays * 401(k) * Medical, Dental, Life health insurance * Disability Insurance * Life Insurance * Supportive work cultureQualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
