The perfect car for a long vacation or a sporting drive. Calypso red exterior over tan full Connolly leather interior. Exterior 2-stage finish is shiny with deep reflection. Interior leather has no cracks, rips or tears on seats, door panels, dash or rear bulkhead. Headliner and sun visors are defect free. The galvanized steel chassis is rust-free as is the all fiberglass body. The weatherstripping around all of the doors, windows and trunks shows no sun damage. It is soft, plyable, and seals all openings with no wind or water leaks.The turbocharged 210 Hp DOHC 4-valve aluminum engine with Dellorto side draft carburettors and 5-speed manual transmission are in excellent condition. The carburetors are well balanced giving even running idle and smooth progressive operation throughout the engine's RPM range on the road. The turbocharger was factory tuned to provide the feel of a much larger engine and pulls like a train all the way to redline. The engine does not consume oil between changes. The transmission shifts smoothly and the synchronizers are in excellent condition. The only operational modification from original stock on this car is the addition of a braided stainless steel line that has replaced the original red plastic hose between the clutch master cylinder and the transaxle mounted slave cylinder. All service is up to date with new timing belt and water pump in December of 2019. It has had regular (every 3,000 miles) oil changes under my 6 years of ownership. The front suspension has been rebuilt with new bushings, wheel bearings and brake pads this past May. The brakes have a firm pedal and work perfectly without pull, vibration or squeal. The rear brake pads have plenty of life remaining. The rotors (the car has four wheel disc brakes) are true and do not have any scoring. The tires are in good condition with no signs of uneven wear. There is no curb rash on the light weight factory BBS wheels. The factory air conditioning was serviced this year and blows cold. The power adjustable outside rear view mirors and power windows work properly as does the rear window defroster. The sound system has an upgraded Blaupunkpt AM/FM/CD head unit with six premium quality MB Quart speakers (two 4" mid-range speakers in the dash, two tweeters in the cowl panels ahead of the doors, and two 6" diameter drivers in the rear bulkhead). Original factory locations were used for the stereo head unit and speakers. No interior panels were cut or modified for their installation. All of the window glass is clear and free of pitting, scratches, stone chips or cracks. The windshield and its extruded aluminum trim were replaced last winter. The windshield wiper blade was replaced at that time as well.The exterior finish has a few chips here and there from road driving commensurate with the car's age. There a couple of the minor spiderwebs typical of all fiberglass bodied cars (one about the size of a quarter on the hood and another in the A-pillar plinth adjacent to the windshield). Some settling of the paint is evident on the headlamps and nose, again commensurate with the car's age. Starshield clear vinyl protectant is installed on the nose and front chin spoiler. So there are no stone chips on the front end. The exterior finish, while not perfect remains very presentable for a 40 year-old vehicleBoth front and rear trunks are in excellent condition. They hold enough soft luggage for my wife and I to take sufficient gear to support 2-week road trip vacations. Or to make the occasional shopping trip to Costco! The rear trunk carpeting is near perfect. The original and ununsed factory jack, wrench and spare tire are present in the front trunk. All locks and latches work smoothly and correctly.This Turbo Esprit is a well maintained driver's car. It is not a garage queen. It is an unmolested driver. The car is driven regularly by mature non-smoker owners. As such the listed mileage is approximate since we continue to drive and enjoy the car and will do so until it is sold. It has never been accident damaged or tracked. It is always garaged and fitted with a sun blocker to protect the dash when parked outside. Everything on the car operates correctly. This car is fast, quiet, smooth and fully sorted. It needs nothing and is ready to drive anywhere.
