Shiba has never met a person she didn't love, is good with other large dogs (we don't know about small dogs), but is young and has all of the energy that comes with a GSD of her age and not everyone is equipped to handle the breed. The shelter volunteers walked her, socialized her, and quickly fell in love with her!Adoptions are slow and the shelter is packed⦠even a beautiful 1½-year-old beauty can be in danger of losing their life for space and we couldnât see Shiba failed twice. When her time was running short, we welcomed her into the Coastal family and promised to give her some training, love, and find a family who would cherish her forever. Shiba doesn't have a mean bone in her body, but can be a little jumpy and mouthy so would do best with older children. Shiba loves to chase down balls and toys, is very food motivated, a smart cookie, and will be a welcome addition to a family who loves active and young GSDs.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. September 10, 2023, 5:53 am
