Our Hurdy Gurdies are fun entry level instruments for hobbyists and amateur musicians.We have a sound sample of our Hurdy GurdySee it at: https://youtube.com/shorts/d7r_Y3fzcfkThank you for your consideration,Gallopin' GurdiesThis Diatonic Hurdy Gurdy was made by local woodworkers/luthiers in Oregon who enjoy making folk musical instruments both common and unusual.Each Hurdy Gurdy features 4 guitar tuners - which make tuning more accurate and reliable than friction pegs that tend to slip.It does include the guitar strap (colors may vary), we also include a 6 page Care and Maintenance Guide for your Gurdy which covers in depth how to tune & cotton the strings & rosin the wheel. The gig bag features backpack straps as well as handels for easy carrying, is padded and has a large zippered pouch for your music and accessories.It has 4 strings and 12 noter keys in a single row forming a diatonic scale with the flexibility to play in several keys. The tangents are adjustable so you can really dial in the individual notes just the way you like it.They are currently strung with full sized Viola "D" (2 Chanters) and "G"& "C" (2 Drone) Strings. While the adjustable tangents allow for flexibility in tuning to different keys, we have tuned them to D Major with the open chanter strings tuned to "D". This gives a very nice voice straight away while you're learning how cool this instrument really is!The drones and chanters feature rest positions so you can play your Gurdy with both (full sound), one (backup sound), or neither (for a duet effect of the chanters only) of the drones to achieve the sound you want or just the drones if you're looking for just the backup sound... Play 1 string, play all 4 strings, or any mix you like!The keys function as they should.Body is about 17" long, about 22" including the peg head and turning knob.About 9 " wide at widest pointAbout 7" high, from back of body to top of key box.Crank turns with the right hand, keys are played with the left hand.Hurdy Gurdys are folk instruments that can be played with regular sheet music, or "by ear", or make your own music! Compose your own tunes or play established ones.
