Summary:The QC Lead’s role is to perform verification of in process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications, perform visual weld inspections, and document control.Essential Functions:Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followedCoordinate with Corporate Superintendent and Superintendents for coatings-related priorities and scheduleManage and direct all coatings personnelEnsure each facility is adequately staffed for all shifts to meet coatings operation needsEnsure each facility has the equipment and consumables needed to meet production needsPerform audits and inspections to ensure work performed meets or exceeds standards and issue corrective action when neededEnsure adherence to the established preventive maintenance program on all equipmentEnsure company compliance with all documentation and retention requirementsEnsure all QC documentation is completed as required and given to the correct facility contact for retentionReview outside companies and vendors related to coatings operationReview all purchase orders and requisitions for cost and accuracyCoordinate with the EHS department to ensure facilities are following all environmental regulationsInform senior management of any issues that will affect production, quality, or safetyCoach and develop all personnel within the coatings departmentAdditional Duties:Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operationsQualifications:Excellent written and oral communication skills, keen attention to detailExcellent coaching, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly languageAble to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure fast-paced environmentExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentEducation and/or Expereience:AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Knowledge of AISC, ASME, and API codesAt least 5 years’ experience in a notable steel fabrication or erection companyAt least 2 years’ inspection experience in a major steel fabrication or erection companyHigh school diploma or GED required (degree preferred)Powered by JazzHR
