Position SummaryThe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver is looking to hire Faculty Online Course Authors to develop online systems courses. Faculty will be asked to migrate a face-to-face course to an online modality or to create a new online course from a list of courses in queue to meet the needs of new online curriculum. Course authors are those with expertise in the field compatible with the specific courses needing development such as:3 QH - Project Management in Relation to Systems Engineering3 QH - Systems Optimization3 QH - Applied Electrical, Mechanical and Software Systems Design3 QH - Introduction to Aerospace Missions3 QH - Practical Validation & Verification Test Planning3 QH - Practical Model Based Systems Engineering3 QH - Optimization for Advanced Systems3 QH - Practical Approaches to Continuous Improvement3 QH - Digital Transformation for Advanced Integration3 QH - Design of Space Systems Part 13 QH - Design of Space Systems Part 2For more information about the Systems Engineering courses, the list can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes through the following link: https://www.du.edu/registrar/course/scheduleofclasses.html.Required Qualifications * Master's Degree * Previous teaching experience * Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults at the graduate level. Preferred Qualifications * PhD * Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults in graduate professional programs Work ScheduleWhile the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).Application DeadlineThis posting will serve for multiple current and future openings. Posting will be active during AY 2022/23. Each course development need will be filled ongoing, as need be.Special InstructionsCandidates must apply online through jobs.du.edu to be considered. Only applications submitted online will be accepted.Course RatePayment will be made on a sliding scale based on the overall time commitment required to create each online course. The scale ranges from $2,000-$5,000 per course, depending on the needs of the course and the total allocation of time spent authoring. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.BenefitsThe University of Denver offers some benefits for non-benefited employees.
