About the Position W-S Mechanical Group, a subsidiary of W-S Companies, is seeking a Journeyman Combo Welder who will perform various general manual labor tasks. Why work for W-S Companies? Competitive wages - the salary range for this position is $33 to $36 per hour based on experience 401(k) after the eligibility period with company matching component Opportunities for growth and development in your career Positive and safe work environments Key Responsibilities This is a 100% travel job Prepare materials to be welded and weld components Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, plates, pipes and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment Perform maintenance on welding torches and equipment Perform simple piping installations and repairs Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand tools and power tools Weld in any direction – flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions Assist other mechanics or craft workers as needed What does it take to work for W-S Companies? Two plus years of welding experience ; combo pipe welding in an industrial setting is preferred Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if required Must be 18 years of age Must have acceptable ID, pass a drug screen High school diploma or GED Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not necessary Possession of an NCCER certificate is a plus but not necessary Understand verbal and written instructions, basic math, and safety skills Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 Ibs. on occasion May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently May stoop, kneel, or bend on occasion Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently Will climb and move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas while maintaining balance Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions About W-S Companies Founded in 1993, W-S Companies is one of the US's largest privately held, veteran-owned, and operated industrial services companies.
