Accountant ID 2023-2205 Category Accounting/Finance Division Kalamazoo Division Position Overview The Division Accountant will perform a variety of accounting duties including hourly payroll, customer invoicing, accounts payable, purchasing and collection that includes collaboration with multiple departments as well as with internal and external customers. This position requires a high degree of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. This position will have primary responsibility for payroll, customer invoicing and collection but will back up accounts payable and purchasing activities as well. 2 to 5 years of experience is preferred. Responsibilities * Day to day management of all payroll and customer payment activities.* Track, process, and reconcile payments and expenditures to include payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions, etc. in compliance with financial policies and procedures. * Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding, and matching of invoices/receipts.* Regularly tabulate data and compile necessary reports. * Ensure timeliness of all accounting activities. * Continuously look to improve processes.* Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:* Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.* Hands on experience with accounting software.* Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.* Relentless attention to detail and strong analytical skills.* Experience with GL functions.* Customer service orientation and negotiating skills.REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred, Associates degree or equivalent and qualified experience will be considered.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to lift, push or pull 30lb., as well as navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift. 2 to 5 years of experience is preferred. Compensation & Benefits The range for this position in $52k to $57k per year, Salary commensurate with experience and education. Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Division Description The Kalamazoo Division is a full service, BRCGS certified corrugated facility with an ISTA test lab on site. We manufacture a wide variety of corrugated products from point of purchase graphic displays, to any size corrugated shipping container.
