About this Position: The Department Lead ensures the IT strategy, business plan and resources of the entire IT business unit are aligned to the most critical objectives of the company. Ensures maximum utilization and efficiency of IT Resources and Compliance for IT Assets to legal and corporate governance requirements. Oversees the management and control processes of the IT business unit such as investment management (IT Summit), financial management, human resource control, Enterprise IT Portfolio Planning, Asset Management ad KPI / business plan management. Responsibilities include:* Work directly with the AHM IT Vice Presidents and Division Leads to establish and operate the strategic management programs of AHM IT: IT Summit and Enterprise Portfolio Planning, IT business planning process, management KPI reporting, financial and corporate governance controls.o Responsibility to engage/collaborate with IT leaders to ensure successful establishment of Annual IT 3-year Strategic Business Plan and corresponding Budget and Resource Plano Responsibility to engage/collaborate with IT leaders to ensure successful completion for NA IT Portfolio Planning and Execution of IT Summit.o Organize and coordinate business unit wide staff functions and activities (town hall and major communication events)o Act as a consultant to the AVPs / VPs AHM IT, assisting with internal communication, meeting with other top leaders o Oversight for IT BU Associate Engagement Results and Develop Strategies to drive improvemento Manage business unit calendar and ensure deadlines are being met for business unit wide activities and eventso Help coordinate business-unit wide procedures and work to improve existing processes for maximum clarity, efficiency, and success* Work with key leadership in IT and NA business units, ensures development of long-term (3-5 years) and short term (1-3 years) strategic themes in IT to meet the requirements of North America businesso Oversees the staff responsible for the developing the IT strategic plan for the business unito Establishes a business plan for the EAS Department with specific emphasis on IT management operations, Resource, and Portfolio Planning needs for the IT function in the NA Regiono Coordinate strategic business initiatives and guide to completiono Work with and/or lead cross-functional teams* Build and maintain high performing Leadership team (Unit managers and high performing staff) through staff and personal developmento Oversight for development and implementation of the IT Business Unit Workforce Development Strategy - Ensure successful implementation of Digital Skill and Leadership development Programs for all IT Divisions and Associates.o Creates environment where staff can feel motivated, engaged, and inspired to achieve goals, objectives, and continual service improvement actions.o Initiate frequent, interactive discussions with Unit Leaders and department associates to ensure two-way sharing of thoughts and ideas o Ensure that associates feel seen, heard, and valued as key contributors to Honda's success o Champion and monitor workforce planning and the development of talent across the IT Business Unit at all levelso Establish and Mature new Pipelines for diversity and for entry level associates into ITo Continually develop self-awareness and personal leadership capability o Distinguish performance and develop high potential leaders for succession through regular mentoring, performance feedback, and development planning* Achieve the performance goals of the IT Business Unit and the EAS department on critical control items such as budget, manpower, compliance and risk items.o Clearly, consistently, and proactively convey IT vision and corporate direction / rationale to IT Leaders and associates in order to ensure appropriate communication throughout the IT Business Unit. o Works closely with key leadership at AHM, AHFC and HDMA to create the management environment for effective IT functioning (HR, Finance, Legal and Procurement)o Establish performance targets and measures to ensure both BU and Dept level results o Structure and allocate resources for accomplishment of required targetso Anticipate problems and take proactive measures to position IT for successful strategy execution o Make sound decisions with little or no direction o Champion and sponsor innovation to create improvements in operational characteristics o Cultivate--and operate from--a Honda customer viewpoint in all planning and decision-making Who we are seeking:Required Work Experience:* 12 years of IT related work from within IT or associates with IT* 5-8 years leading high performing staff* 3 years business planning and management control* Proven results for strong collaboration skills to find common ground with others to drive achievement for the goals of the IT function Required Education:* Bachelor's degree in IT or business and/or equivalent work experience Desired skills:* Experience in executive level presentations to EVP and P level* Knows how to operate effectively inside of Honda to get things done* Able to successfully organize, lead and direct large initiatives with high ambiguity* Possess an encouraging, can-do attitude* Proven problem solver who can make clear-headed decisions while under pressure* Ability to analyze and compile large sets of data, find the nuggets, and present effective reports that compel action* Detailed Understanding of both Corporate and IT Finance Functions, Processes, and Accounting Practices* Self-motivated and self-sufficient* Proven creative thinker with strong business acuity Additional Position Factors:* Workstyle: Hybrid * Travel: 25% At Honda, you will play a key role in our journey to become a company that society wants to exist now, and in the future.
