What You'll Do:As the Material Manager, Optics Material Management (OMM), you will be part of a team managing the supplier relationships and operational performance for the Optics component suppliers within the Components Business Model. You will join a highly impactful and dynamic organization collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.OMM Accountabilities include but are not limited to:End to end Supplier/Material Management from NPI to Global Manufacturing, from Cost to Operations, Assurance of supply, inventory Buffer and Material Strategy, Procurement Execution (whether by OMM or our Contract Manufacturer's (CM)), Inventory Management.Resolves all barriers to Revenue Enablement via relentless shortage mitigation.Engage with our Contract Manufacturers and hold the CM accountable for proper execution on all required activities (material execution, inventory management, etc)Work closely with NPI to provide material support and guidance for competitive roadmap pricing and material availability for production ramps.Includes Safety Stock Implementation and Management, Agility programs, etc.Assist with planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required material purchases.Resolves discrepancies related to materials both internal and external (suppliers, Contract Manufacturers, et al).Includes costs, deliveries, etc.Continue to drive operational performance to reinforce our competitive advantage and build capacity to grow and innovate.Engagement with Cisco GSM for strategic activities.Partner closely with cross-functional teams to provide a view on business status and risk, including: product ops, engineering, finance and legal.Build effective supplier relationships including technical, commercial, delivery and quality.Anticipate, identify, and track appropriate market tendencies and transitions.Provide insights on supplier and market "risks" and transitions.Provide reporting and overview to partners on as needed basis.Aggressive focus on Non-Material Spend (including E&O, PPV) and Direct materialsGathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards.Inventory TurnsWho You'll Work WithYou'll join an empowered team who's passionate about driving strategies that facilitate the executing and growth of Cisco business. In this role you will interact with Engineering leadership, Supplier Executives, Global Supply Chain Management/peers, and Finance partners.Who You AreYou are a self-starter who possesses a combination of business experience, strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship skills, you work strategically, and aren't intimidated by titles.In this role you will work with people toward a shared goal and across multiple regions and time zones.You are highly flexible and are able to work in a hyper-dynamic environment that requires you to balance multiple tasks requiring both strategic and tactical planning and execution. You have an excellent understanding of and experience in the Optics industry (Filters, Isolators, Pumps, VOA, Lasers, etc).You'll use your ability to influence, both inside and outside Cisco, to make sure we deliver on our strategy.You have proven experience working with cross-functional teams and achieving results.You are a highly effective communicator who is able to collaborate and influence at all levels within Cisco and our suppliers.Required SkillsAt least 6 years in supply chain in the Optics components industry.At least 6 years in supplier management, material management.High-energy, strategic problem solver with excellent judgment and a passion for learning.Expertise in building positive relationships, and handling conflict resolution internally and externally.Adept developing solutions to sophisticated business situations and influencing decisions needed to implement these solutions.Comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization - quickly developing trust, communicating and driving active discussions.Capability to influence senior executives through strength of ideas, story-telling through data, and personality.Ability to simplify complex data sets and scenario planning to tell a story.Why Cisco? #WeAreCisco.
