Description Leidos is seeking a Communications Program Manager to support our customer, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), which is part of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). BJS is the primary statistical agency of the Department of Justice. The mission of BJS is to collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government.As part of Leidos' Communications Support Services team, the Communications Program Manager will work with an experienced group of communications professionals dedicated to supporting our government clients. However, the Communications Program Manager must reside within the Washington, D.C. area and must have the ability to periodically attend in-person meetings at the customer site in Washington, D.C.*** Candidates must have the ability to acquire a Public Trust clearance.**As the Communications Program Manager for BJS, you will:Coordinate and manage all work performed under a task order, including writing, editing, graphic design, marketing, outreach, conferencing, and webinar support.Plans, directs, leads, and monitors the work of team members and projects from inception through completion.Supervises and leads the editorial team.Identifies and assigns staff for projects while managing project issues and roadblocks.Responsible for all aspects of performance, including writing, editing, design, layout, marketing, and outreach.Oversees quality review and process for all aspects of communications support, including Traditional and Web reports, Statistical tables, charts, social media content, listserv messages, videos, and other multimedia content.Responsible for schedule, deliverables, and contractual compliance.Leads projects from inception through completion.Serves as the subject matter expert on BJS style and formatting.Serves as the government's primary point of contact for all work performed under the task order.Manages the task order budget and reporting deliverables.Additional Responsibilities include:Providing backup writing and editorial support, including quality control for a range of information products.May be required to generate content, including highly technical press releases, reports summaries, articles, and speeches.Provides expert judgment to BJS staff and authors with guidance on writing and editing content for publishing, presentation, or administrative use.May advise authors, statisticians, program managers, contractors, and grantees on editorial matters and on appropriate dissemination formats.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.At least 5 years of directly relevant supervisory or managerial experience involving frequent, high-level technical publishing, including web publishing.Experience managing projects with specific results and deadlines.Superior oral and writing skills and outstanding analytic and problem-solving abilities.Desired Experience:Experience in social science or statistics and accurately translating complex material into accessible formats.Possess strong command over plain language principles.Familiarity with effective dissemination and outreach strategies.At Leidos, we value and support the well-being and mobility of our employees with competitive benefit packages, complementary e-learning training, work-life flexibility, an exciting External Referral Program, and a diverse, inclusive and ethical workplace.
