General Labor - 2nd & 3rd Shifts ID 2023-2268 Category Production Operations Division Kalamazoo Division Position Overview The General Labor position's primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include operating industrial machinery, sorting and stacking corrugated products, conducting quality checks, performing machine set-up and cleaning, and maintaining a clean and organized work space. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely, must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment, have a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operate complex machinery. Must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends. Responsibilities To be successful in this role, you will need:The ability to operate a variety of manufacturing equipment from flexo-folder gluers, rotary and flat bed die-cutting machines, a corrugator, and specialty labling and folder/gluing machines. An understanding of reading specification documents, and you must be able to follow specific directions.Familiarity with power hand tool operation.To be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.To maintain a clean work environment.Familiarity with reading a tape measure to the 16th of an inch, as well as have basic math skills such as the ability to reduce fractions.Basic computer skills.Physical strength enough to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, navigate stairs/ladders, stand, walk, bend and kneel throughout the shift. Qualifications To qualify for this position, candidates must have:High school or technical diploma, or the equivalent.Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.The ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.Previous manufacturing/factory experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Green Bay Packaging offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, employer-funded pension plan, 401(k), company provided life insurance, company provided short term disability, paid time off. Earn from $22.03/hour to $25.14/hour + $1.00 shift differential for 2nd & 3rd shifts. EOE/M/F/D/V Division Description The Kalamazoo Division is a full service, BRCGS certified corrugated facility with an ISTA test lab on site. We manufacture a wide variety of corrugated products from point of purchase graphic displays, to any size corrugated shipping container.
