Manufacturing EngineerReporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will provide support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of manufacturing operations. The primary emphasis of this role is to achieve the best use of equipment, human resources, technology, materials and procedures to enhance the efficiency and productivity of our lines.Powering Vehicles, Motion, Work, and Lives since 1966.ResponsibilitiesWork with production planning to set shop priorities and ensure all required tools and documentation required in the plant for production run jobs are availableEvaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operatorsDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendorsImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layoutAssures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processesPrepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsMinimum RequirementsA university degree or diploma in engineering or equivalentLicensing by an association of Professional Engineers would be an assetOne to three years of experience in a manufacturing environmentProficient with Microsoft Office and CAD applications, including AutoCAD and SolidWorksPrevious experience with risk analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)Desired CharacteristicsAbility to coordinate and integrate work within teams of various personnel to ensure successStrong communication skillsAdaptable and flexibleAble to problem solve and troubleshoot in a fast paced and demanding environmentCommitted to continuous improvementWhy LinamarOpportunities for career advancementAssistance with approved professional designations and feesCommunity based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charitiesSocial committees and sports teamsDiscounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discountsAbout UsLinamar Corporation is a Canadian diversified global manufacturing company of highly engineered products across global industries & markets.
