Description:
For sale this rare 1963 SP250. BODY: PERFECT-fiberglass and paint. NO cracks, peel, bubbles, waves, dings, NO uneven panels. NO uneven doors-with flush closing and nice alignments. NO uneven trunk-engine lids, etcetera. Added insulation on complete floor under carpets (not done when new and not done on most restores).4 SPEED manual. Original SP250 motor, trans, rear; the rest is mostly original. Starts easy (no need to pull throttle or pump gas; just starts with turn of key and idles with no playing, and revs/runs decently. Again, this is a 4 speed standard shift Daimler SP250 manual transmission; non-synchro first gear. Shifts perfectly, all gears. NEW items: in the period of restore/revamps, and within the last month: water and fuel pumps; four wheel disk brakes and new suspension parts; interior (sealer paint and insulation [shown] installed under carpet); a new top (but got ripped upon install, now has 6" repair patch at the bottom both lower sides); paint (no fractures, cracks, or peeling); NEW tires; chromes/emblems; etcetera (to many to list). NEW GLASS. Dual exhaust extensions have been added to the NEW EXHAUST. Also, new NAPA 750 CCA battery just installed (7/1/15). A gas filter, moisture inhibitor-gas stabilizers, high test gas, was added. An aftermarket shift knob is now on (not shown in the interior picture). MOTOR: Heads and valves were completely redone with valve seals installed-ported/polished (SP250's did not originally have seals which would cause some oils smoke; the upgraded/modernized valve seals alleviates it). I have the receipt for the parts and labor on this job. The small "rubber" top hoses were nicely done away with by custom *copper soldered* pipes. Cleaner and less leaking (can easily be replaced back to original rubber hoses). A new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing was installed before the motor was reinstalled. THE FRAME: was in excellent condition when the previous owner took the body off. He prepped, painted, and remounted the body with new required parts. The Hood closes flush (slightly open in picture). Doors/fenders, etcetera have good alignments and close as desired. Reinforced frame by Jaguar.Car comes with a parts supply resource CD; a Daimler SP250 illustrated hardcover details and history book(1 inch thick) and a trunk full of parts. Also has the original console ashtray in trunk. A large folder of receipts.
