Reports To: Director of Product DevelopmentPrincipal Duties:● Brainstorm potential solutions for customer problems based on insights● Collaborate with team members on suggested technical approaches for projects● Manage large scale projects and programs● Mentor other engineers through sharing of experience● Responsible for form, fit, and function of designs and their cost breakdowns● Design, build, and test prototypes● Design, develop, and utilize test methods to qualify products for customer use● Provide manufacturing and production support for new products and continuous improvement of existing products● Manage technical documentation of key project decisions and design changes● Integrate with marketing teams to support tasks such as: ○ Product performance testing, marketing claims, packaging, and literatureRequired Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Training:● B.S. or higher in Engineering/Design or equivalent work experience● Broad and extensive experience in various manufacturing disciplines● Solid experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor a plus)● 5-7 years experience on a consumer product engineering team, with a focus on quality, reliability, and commercialization● Heavy project management experience required● Extensive experience with supplier management● Effective organization and communication skills and superior attention to detail● Ability to work independently and in team environments● Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint● Mathematical skills (calculations, analysis, spreadsheets)● FMEA, DFSS, and lean manufacturing experience a plusPowered by JazzHR
