To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.com POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the daily work and performance of every employee on assigned shift to achieve team and company objectives. A successful candidate would have broad-based industrial maintenance experience and a skill set in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic machinery and know the benefits of a robust preventive maintenance program for the equipment. That experience will encompass Electrical/PLC, Robotics, Mechanical, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Welding, Machining, Conveyor systems, etc. Must be willing to tackle any maintenance challenges, and be willing to assist and learn from others in their areas of expertise. Supporting the team you supervise is the root of the job. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountable for the Front Line Leader program with the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations. Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible. Responsible for achieving safety, quality and productivity goals in assigned production department. Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Direct work assignments and ensure efficient labor utilization. Oversee departmental budget, Preventive maintenance program, develop leadership, and improve training. As a support department, must move the business forward with the daily needs of safety, people, quality/ equipment and continually develop plans or strategy for these needs. Involvement with ISO meetings/QMS communications for department personnel. Be open to change, but meet deadlines that have been set. Perform other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES: Ability to demonstrate & foster an environment where UFAA behaviors flourish (united, focused, accountable, agile). Willingness to take charge, offer direction, accept feedback and adapt as needed. Must be reliable, responsible and personally accountable for results. Ability to foster teamwork, continuous improvement and create a work environment where safety is a core value. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years of previous leadership experience. College degree in manufacturing/business/ or related field or equivalent experience preferred. Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft Office products preferred). Ability to organize and prioritize work activities for self and others and to handle multiple projects simultaneously, analyze data and react to changes and challenges in the business. Strong technical, business and organizational skills. Ability to recognize mechanical and production challenges and implement corrective actions. Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to motivate employees. Excellent communications skills to establish team culture and trust. Demonstrated track record of success in a dynamic, fast paced production environment.
