Library Instruction Coordinator - Ferris State University. The Ferris Library for Information, Technology, & Education (FLITE) at Ferris State University (Big Rapids, Michigan) seeks a collaborative, innovative, creative, and user-focused First-Year Experience librarian. FLITE is a teaching library where many librarians are engaged in library instruction and information literacy skill development and this key role helps advance strategic investments in integrative learning, digital scholarship, and readiness for life after college through support of excellence in teaching and learning during the first college year. Specifically, the individual in this important position coordinates an established, successful, first-year program in concert with university students, faculty and staff. This is a 12-month, tenure-track, faculty position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Ferris State University offers a competitive benefits package. This position will remain open until filled.Required: ALA accredited master's degree in library science or ALA accredited master's degree in information science by the time of hire. Experience serving diverse and underrepresented student populations. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage workload, priorities, and deadlines and achieve timeline goals. Ability to maintain high degree of organization. Knowledge of trends and services in academic libraries to support first-year experience programs. Capability and commitment to engage in research and continued professional development worthy of promotion and tenure as a faculty member of Ferris State University. Experience or demonstrated aptitude for teaching research skills to first-year students.
