Jirsa, Hedrick & Associates, Inc. has an opening for the position of Design Engineer (Ref# DE114IA) .Work Location: 8490 E. Crescent Parkway, Suite 250, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.Job Duties: Perform design of structural components of buildings as directed by the Project Manager for a full service structural engineering firm offering comprehensive structural design services to architects, owners, developers, and contractors. Detail portions of structures as described by the Project Manager. Collaborate with the in-house design team involved in buildings design. Review shop drawings and answer RFIs (requests for information). Utilize a variety of computer analysis and design programs to facilitate design. Develop details of how building components interconnect in completed structures. Develop construction documents suitable for permitting and construction. Attend pre-construction meetings to coordinate work with contractors. Work with other consultants on the project to coordinate conflicting items. Conduct site visits to construction sites and write observation reports. Review project discrepancies during construction. Use design codes and specifications including ACI (American Concrete Institute) 318, AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Manual, AISI (American Iron & Steel Institute), NDS (National Design Specification), IBC (International Building Code), ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) 7, and TMS (The Masonry Society) 402. Use computer software including Revit, AutoCAD, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, Tedds, WoodWorks, CSI Column (CSiCOL), CFS Designer, and MS Office.Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Structural Engineer, Civil Engineering Graduate Research Assistant, or related experience.
