A member of the Big South Conference, Longwood competes at the NCAA Division I level.Job Description:The Department of Social Work and Communication Sciences and Disorders of Longwood University invite applications for a full-time, clinical educator in Communication Sciences and Disorders (F0122) to begin Fall 2020. Longwood offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The undergraduate students are prepared for successful admission to graduate school in speech-language pathology or related field, or work in a human services field. The graduate students are prepared for licensure by the Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and certification by the American Speech­Language-Hearing Association.The successful applicant's primary responsibilities will be clinical education of graduate students in their clinical placements at Speech, Hearing, and Learning Services. This includes supervision of students at off-site placements (e.g., local school districts, preschools). The successful applicant may also teach undergraduate courses such as Communication Disorders in Society and Media and Clinical Methods. This is a nine month position beginning August 2020. Summer employment is expected to provide supervision of summer initiatives in the speech and language clinic.Requirements:The applicant should hold a masters' degree in speech-language pathology, the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and be qualified to provide clinical education. The applicant must hold, or be eligible for, licensure by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist. Experience in clinical education is desirable.Additional Information:Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits accompany this position.
