AIA Seattle is seeking an Associate Director of Growth & Operations to grow and diversify earned and contributed revenue and manage and oversee the Operations Team, which includes communications and finance. Goals of Position Develop long-term growth strategy for the organization Manage the organization's existing annual fundraising and membership campaigns Create new diversified sources of revenue Lead and manage Operations Team to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate to maximize employee morale and productivity Essential Job Functions Planning Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated new business plan for AIA Seattle, including Design in Public and the Center for Architecture & Design. This will be our first business plan, designed to support our new strategic plan. Manage and engage board leadership in business planning Create a diversified multi-year business plan that includes measurable goals, strategies, and tactics Management As a member of the Management Team, create policies and structures that support individual staff members and build a vibrant, cohesive team. Lead and manage the Operations Team, currently 5FTE, three of whom are direct reports; positions include communications, finance and operations Build team focus on our strategic plan goals Lead team hiring, annual reviews, onboarding, documentation and redundancy planning, and individual professional development In partnership with Management Team, set personnel policies and standards, invest in staff morale and team training, make decisions about compensation and benefits, plan retreats, and address personnel challenges Manage the Operations Team's workload to optimize capacity, and oversee systems analysis, general operations and customer service Membership Development Develop and implement strategies to maintain and continue to grow membership in all categories: individuals, firms, and allied professionals. Execute our annual membership recruitment plan, which has led to consistent membership growth over the past decade Work with communications team on a strategic communications plan Oversee annual membership billing and renewals, and monitor membership renewal rates Conduct member outreach and collect member feedback as needed to inform member recruitment and retention efforts Work with national membership staff to coordinate membership efforts Sponsorship Lead existing, robust corporate sponsorship programs for AIA Seattle and Design in Public. Manage Development Committees for AIA Seattle and Design in Public Support and motivate dedicated board members with a history of sponsorship development Run and grow annual sponsorship campaigns, and oversee development of fundraising tools Increase sponsor benefits, retention and satisfaction Provide leadership, tools and training to enable board members to achieve their fundraising goals Oversee sponsor recognition and fulfillment of benefits Oversee online advertising sales to sponsors and prospects Fundraising Lead charitable giving efforts for the Seattle Design Festival, exhibits, and other public programs Assess current and future program offerings for funding potential Develop additional grant funding targets, and oversee grant writing and reporting Manage Design in Public's board giving, currently our only individual giving category Oversee and expand our annual Design in Public Benefit Breakfast Advise staff and committee members on Travel Scholarship fundraising Explore the possibility of a shared fundraising event for all Center partners Explore the potential for new fundraising opportunities Job Skills and Attributes Courageous collaborator that values success of the collective Strategic thinker able to contribute to long-term visions of success Relationship builder and connector who excels at partnership development Entrepreneurial thinker comfortable in both for-profit and non-profit environments Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion Architecture or design background is not requited, but a fluency in design topics and interest in the built environment is highly desirable Job Qualifications Requires BA Degree or equivalent Minimum 5 years of related experience in membership, fundraising, partnership and business development or related work Knowledge of and connections to design and construction industry strongly preferred recblid 027lhhstzt57heh62rg0kr8f0e9qpl BA/BS/Undergraduate
