Working Title: Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority LifeBrief Summary of Job Description: The University of Nebraska Kearney has a thriving Greek community with a nearly 100-year rich tradition. The community encompasses 12 national chapters with three governing councils including the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council and Panhellenic Council, serving nearly 700 students. The UNK Fraternity and Sorority community has a reputation for developing healthy chapters through collaboration with chapter leaders, advisors, national staff, and a supportive University administration. UNK Fraternity and Sorority Life strives to provide students with opportunities to grow as individuals, develop personal values and character, and progress as leaders. The Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for the coordination of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, including fraternities and sororities, governing councils, ancillary groups and groups that may potentially charter. The Assistant Director develops programs and services that foster a sense of community among the organizations, including regular meetings of council presidents and other intra-council initiatives.Job Duties: The Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life will: Directly advise multiple organizations, ensuring that the objectives of the Greek community are consistent with the mission of the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and national Greek offices. Develop policies and procedures for fraternal organizations. Develop and maintain quality educational programs for fraternity and sorority members focusing on leadership, risk management, social responsibility, financial responsibility, community service initiatives, and membership recruitment. Supervise chapter recruitment and intake activities. Serve as liaison and advocate for fraternity and sorority chapters and cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships and regular communication both within the University and to external groups. Oversee organizational conduct and judicial matters of Greek organizations in collaboration with the UNK Conduct Officer. Respond to 24-hour incidents and crisis management within the FSL Community. Prepare and submit reports detailing fraternity and sorority grades and recruitment and membership statistics. Assist with a variety of programs, events, and initiatives coordinated through the Student Union and Student Engagement and various student organizations. Coordinate assessment initiatives and serve on various campus committees representing the Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Nebraskan Student Union and Student Engagement. Promote resources and functions of the campus and the Division of Student Affairs.
