The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis (Bank) seeks a Director for its Facilities Management Department (FM). The Director will help ensure the Bank continues to have a safe, secure, and physically aesthetic and environmentally sound work environment for its employees, guests, and visitors.Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, this management level position has primary day-to-day leadership responsibility for a staff of thirteen employees in Minneapolis, but will support more than the 1,200 employees of Minneapolis and the Helena branch offices. The Director is accountable for management oversight of facility building systems and operations supporting FM and the Bank. The Director will represent the Bank with local, state, and national entities and agencies relating to construction and engineering projects.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated, progressive, and relevant leadership experience in operation, maintenance, construction, relocation, and renovation of facilities and commercial office space. The candidate will also have a proven ability to think and act strategically and critically while interacting with a diverse group of executives, managers, and professionals. They must have the ability to deliver customer-focused services, meet critical deadlines, manage ambiguity, work across highly independent business units, and deal with difficult situations as routine. The ability to conduct oneself, at all times, with integrity, honesty, and respect for every employee is paramount. Key Responsibilities This position is responsible for providing leadership and professional direction for all maintenance, repairs, installations, and renovations for building systems and equipment within a 24/7/365 work environment. Building systems include mission critical data center, building equipment, utility systems, including HVAC, kitchen, fire suppression, electrical (switchgear, emergency power generation systems, uninterruptable power supple [UPS]), mechanical, plumbing, and the building automation system (BAS).Lead the group in executing strategic plans by establishing priorities and determining resource allocation for efficient and effective delivery of support. Provide professional guidance to the organization relating to operations and maintenance of the facilities.Provide leadership, direction, and support to the maintenance support team, and set direction for team goals. Track and control project planning, schedules, and associated costs to achieve completion of maintenance and projects within approved budgets and established time frames.Support staff as necessary for maintenance, repair, renovation, relocation, and remodeling of office space, and other building components/systems that impact the office environment. Work closely with various consultants (i.e., architects, engineers) to complete maintenance projects and prepare bid packages.The Director will work closely with FM management team to formulate, implement, and measure outcomes of strategic plans and goals, budgets, resource planning, projects, performance, and related matters. Assist with setting a vision for the future, including developing plans to achieve business needs consistent with the Federal Reserve System Corporate Real Estate Group (CREW) and Sub-committee of Administrative Services (SAS) principles and objectives. Lead and/or participate in strategic projects supporting department, Bank, District, and Federal Reserve System initiatives and work groups.Oversee staffing, performance management, staff development, salary administration, and terminations. Develop team goals and objectives that effectively advance the goals and objectives of the department, Bank, and Federal Reserve System. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring of staff.Partner with Procurement, Law, Audit, and other departments in the Request for Proposal process for major procurement events. Participate in the contractor selection process and ensure contracts are implemented effectively an in compliance with the established terms and conditions. Interpret and implement government regulations, building, electrical, and plumbing codes, and ensure consistent application of department policies and procedures.The Director will also be responsible for other specific duties that may be assigned, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree preferred. Certification as a register architect or engineer preferred.Ten or more years of relevant experience in a complex business environment, as evidenced by an established record of achievement. Significant experience with facilities management related functions preferred. Knowledge of and familiar with requirements of building codes, LEED, Energy Star, BOMA, etc. Must be proficient in and know how to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.Superior strategic planning skills and experience with an emphasis on innovation and automation. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to identify priorities, drive performance, and execute plans on schedule.Excellent communication skills (written and oral), as well as effective presentation and persuasion capabilities, and management presence that elicits confidence and credibility.Resourceful, flexible, and open to new ways of thinking, with the ability to drive change.Demonstrated strategic and critical thinker with the analytical skills necessary to evaluate, organize, and direct complex projects and programs. Ability to identify key strategic issues affecting areas of responsibility and demonstrate an understanding of their implications.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills. Proven direct supervisory experience including financial responsibility.
