Software Engineer, Android Application Development Sirius XM Radio Inc. (Irving, TX; job location) Help develop our mobile applications, focusing on the engineering aspects of mobile applications w/ particular emphasis on the Android platform. Define technical designs & specifications of a mobile application, analyzing req's & translating those req's into technical specifications. Refine & define Sirius XM mobile application software, which has been built & compiled using native technologies, including Android & iOS. Help create new interfaces between the mobile client & the back-end service layer. Define class-level specifications & modify mobile application software code. Draft proof of concept application code & software. Troubleshoot pre & post-production issues. Utilize & understand the full software stack & software components of our mobile applications. Develop knowledge of our software development coding standards, code review, & all documentation as it applies to software development of the mobile client. Req's: Master's degree in Information Systems or Computer Applications & three yrs of exp in the position offered or in a software development position OR Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Applications & five yrs of post-Bachelor's progressive exp in the position offered or in a software development position. Two yrs of the req'd exp must have included designing, developing, debugging, testing, deploying, & maintaining mobile application software for Android using Rest API, Android SDK, & Java; utilizing media stream technologies including HLS, DASH, & RTSP; & exp working w/ MVC or MVVM design patterns.
