General Information: Job title: Resident Care Assistant Location: Crest View Nursing & Rehabilitation Position Status/Hours: PT 2 37.5 hours per pay period; Day/PM shift PM shift differential Weekend rotation: Every other weekend weekend differential Holiday rotation: Rotating holidays Position Summary: Provide safe home like environment to promote overall health and socialization to advanced age and early dementia residents. Position Responsibilities: Completes daily work and resident cares, assignments, and reviews care plan on resident and follows. Introduces self to client and proceeds to perform daily care routines. May bathe client, dress, assist in toileting, transferring the person to and from a wheelchair and perform housekeeping, linen duties, dietary, activity duties as directed. Based on physician's orders, may change dressings or assure that client is taking required medication at designated times. Prepares and serves meals. Takes/replaces inventory of food and housekeeping supplies. Follows safe lifting practices in lifting client to and from wheelchair. Follows precautionary health steps (mask, gloves, aprons) in dealing with clients with infectious diseases. Administers medications as specified by policies/procedures. Check blood sugars as ordered. Responsible for vitals and weights. Universal precautions/Infection control policies/procedures. Assist residents in meeting fluid and nutritional needs. Follow resident care plans. Resident-centered approach. Other duties as requested within scope of practice Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Successful completion of CBRF courses Previous CBRF or CNA experience Required Skills: Cheerful, upbeat disposition which will provide positive atmosphere for residents.
