Every pet has their quirk. For Harley, he likes to sit on furniture as if he were a person! He also enjoys belly rubs, snuggles and soft toys.But we didn't always know how fun Harley could be. When he first arrived at ACKSC, he was incredibly nervous and shy, refusing to come out of his kennel and panting constantly. With time and care, however, we got to see the brighter side of Harley!At 7-years-old, this small and sturdy Terrier-mix has reached his distinguished gentleman years. As he is considered a senior by shelter standards, his adoption fee is waived! As much as we try to make him comfortable, it is clear that shelter life is stressful for Harley. Every moment he can spend outside of his kennel is the best thing for him. He prefers the company of people and other dogs to being left alone. As adorable as his pigeon-toed stance is, Harley does receive daily medication for his joints (Dasuquin), and he may require an orthopedic consult as he gets older. Harley is still working on his leash manners, but he is very treat-motivated and will listen to anything you have to say if you have a tasty morsel to offer him! We're currently teaching him how to rollover! Harley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped!
